Blair Purvis is a novelist living in Melbourne. His work is concerned with desire, geography, and the slow, difficult business of being known. His third book, The Art of Surrender, is published in October 2026 by Prahran Publishing.

Biography — long

Blair Purvis was born in Melbourne to Scottish parents and grew up in the city's outer east. He has lived in the United States, Canada and Europe, and travelled widely through the Middle East and Asia. He returned to Melbourne, where he writes, publishes through Prahran Publishing, and engineers sound for community radio. He is a gay man and a father of two. The Art of Surrender, his third book, is published on 15 October 2026.

The Art of Surrender — A novel about power, shame, and the cost of allowing yourself to be truly known.

Ayman Saliba arrives in Morocco looking for permission. Lucas Pfifer arrives already fluent in concealment.
